We had 7 new Post members at our first VFW 101 meeting. The new members learned a lot about the Post and hopefully saw things of interest that will cause them to become involved in the Post. VFW 101 will continue in the future before every Post meeting from 6:00 PM to 6:30 PM in the Post Hall.

My 700+ Newsletter emails are constantly flagged as spam and my account is routinely shut down. As a result, the Newsletter is now being distributed by a company that specializes in this sort of thing, Mailchimp. You have no doubt already received emails through them or others. For example, the AZ Dept. of Veteran Services uses a similar company, Constant Contact, the 82nd Airborne Association Newsletter uses Multiview, etc. This change will also enable us to enhance the Newsletter.

Our newly elected Post Officers are Commander Mike Parker, Sr. Vice Cmdr. Darron “GQ” Sanders, Jr. Vice Cmdr. Terrence Harper, Quartermaster Joe Loggia, One Year Trustee Mike Guthrie, Two Year Trustee Andrew Wyer, Three Year Trustee Tony Gilbert. They will take office in June.

Buddy Poppy donations will be Memorial Day Weekend Saturday and Sunday May 25th and 26th in front of Fry’s stores. This is our major fundraiser to help Veterans. If you would like to help, contact Mike LoBello 239-601-1779.

The Post is 800 pounds short on our Food Drive. If we meet our goal, we can receive $1500. Check your cupboards for cans and bring them to the Post!
